Here’s some good news for women (and for the men who love them). An hour walk each day lowers breast cancer risk among postmenopausal women by 14%.
And women who do at least one hour of strenuous physical activity daily have 25% lower risk for breast cancer.
How does exercise lower risk of breast cancer?
Physical activity is thought to lower risk by reducing hormones…improving weight control, glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity…and lowering inflammation.
The study was done only with women, but there is no reason why men shouldn’t also be encouraged to get out and exercise. In fact, we know a way that you can get an entire day’s worth of exercise in just seven minutes.
