Health Quest – Fluoride Can Kill, So Avoid Hidden Sources

Many medical authorities warn that excess fluoride has been linked to a myriad of health problems including heart ailments, Alzheimer�s, bone disorders, and cancer.

But did you know that you can get the mineral from sources besides toothpaste and fluoride-supplemented drinking water?

Many products contain fluoride, including tea, wine, soda, infant formula, and foods with soy.

“Fluoride is a very powerful cardiac poison,” warns Russell Blaylock, M.D., renowned neurosurgeon and author of �The Blaylock Wellness Report.�

And it�s even more detrimental when it is combined with aluminum, says Dr. Blaylock. Aluminum is sometimes added as a clarifier to water supplies along with fluoride. “The two combine to create a brain toxin that’s powerful in incredibly small concentrations,” he tells Newsmax Health.

“We’re poisoning our kids, and it’s unconscionable. One child had a complete cardiac collapse and died within minutes of swallowing � instead of spitting out � a fluoride treatment.

“Half the babies in the United States are formula-fed. The most common form is soy, which is high in both fluoride and aluminum, and it’s usually mixed with fluoridated tap water. In effect, you’re giving the baby a neurotoxic soup.”

Fluoride also makes children more vulnerable to cancer, he says. “Children under 6 who drink fluoridated water have four times the risk of developing cancer.”

It’s not just infants and children who are in danger. Fluoride accumulates in the body over a lifetime and is linked to Alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, crippling bone disease, cancer, hyperthyroidism, and many other conditions, Dr. Blaylock says.

“We have a bio-accumulation of fluoride,” he says. “Because fluoride has been added to water for the past 70 years, it’s in the soil, plants � anything you spray with fluoridated water becomes contaminated with it, even the animals that eat the plants.”

Fluoride, which has long been controversial as a water supply additive, doesn�t even prevent cavities � the reason given for adding it to the water supply in the first place, says Dr. Blaylock. “Even the American Dental Association has admitted that fluoridation doesn’t reduce the number of cavities,� he says. “We have all of this strong evidence of toxicity, but it’s just being ignored.�

Our diets make a bad situation even worse. “We know that people who are deficient in vitamin C and magnesium suffer the most from the toxicity of fluoride, and many Americans are deficient in both,” says Dr. Blaylock.

“Once in the body, it’s very difficult to remove, but some nutrients, including vitamin C and magnesium, can decrease its toxicity.�

How can you limit the amount of fluoride in your body? The most obvious way is to avoid fluoridated drinking water. And if you use fluoride toothpaste or mouthwash, be sure to rinse thoroughly.

Some sources of the mineral, however, are not easy to detect. Here are hidden sources of fluoride:

� Tea. Black tea has the highest amount of fluoride.

� Soy. Soy products are high in fluoride as well as other brain toxins including aluminum, glutamate, and manganese.

� California wines. California grapes are often sprayed with a fluoride-containing pesticide.

� Sodas and juices. They are often made using fluoridated water.

� Boneless chicken and chicken nuggets. The deboning process often leaves fluoride from bones in the meat.

Supplements that Protect You

Some supplements help protect against the harmful effects of fluoride. Dr. Blaylock’s suggestions include:

� Magnesium malate. 1,000 mg with each meal to help prevent aluminum absorption.

� Vitamin C. 1,000 mg three times a day.

� Vitamin D. 2,000 IU daily.

� Selenium. 200 mcg daily.

� Curcumin. Dissolve 500 mg in 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil and take with meals twice a day.
