Cherie: When I started my search for a safe way to recover my health, I found one old book that mentioned the healing benefits of juicing. It had no recipes, so I bought a juicer and began juicing fruits and vegetables. All I ate for the first five days was a juice feast. I don’t call it a fast, because that sounds like deprivation. Then I only ate whole foods, like salads, stir fries, and brown rice. I pretty much went vegan for a few months. I got a little worse before I got better, because my body was detoxing and I didn’t know that. Nobody was writing about that in those days.

Hadley: Many people still don’t realize that you can use foods to detox things that don’t belong in your body. So how long did it take you to reverse your symptoms of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue by eating right?

Cherie: It took three months of juicing and eating whole foods for me to wake up one day feeling like I got a whole new body. I got back my energy and my life in three months. Then I got my masters in nutrition, so I could be a credible expert in nutritional healing, and I learned that it typically takes a few months for our cells to turn over.
